• The Sterling Hill Mining Museum is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to the preservation, interpretation, understanding, and appreciation of the history of mining, mining technology, mineralogy, and geology unique to the State of New Jersey through scientific research and educational programs. It features a mining-related exhibit hall, underground mine, outdoor mining and art exhibit, rock discovery center, fossil discovery center, museum of fluorescence, astronomical observatory, collections and archives, historic mining structures, as well as a gift shop and snack bar.
• The Franklin Mineral Museum is a non-profit educational institution whose mission is to preserve the mineral wealth, geology, knowledge, and history of what is arguably "The Fluorescent Mineral Capital of the World" - Franklin, New Jersey. It features over 4,000 mineral specimens on systematic display, a fluorescent room, a mine replica, as well as collecting on the Buckwheat Dump - a 3.5 acre mine dump that has gained world fame over the years.

• Mindat.org is the largest mineral database and mineralogical reference website on the internet. This site contains worldwide data on minerals, mineral collecting, mineral localities and other mineralogical information.

• The Maine Pegmatite Workshop is an educational week of classroom, field study, collecting, and studying granitic pegmatites in Maine. It is presented by Dr. William "Skip" Simmons - University of New Orleans and the faculty of the MP2 Research Group. I attended this workshop in 2008 and it has my enthusiastic and wholehearted endorsement!
